Kite Flying

This is probably the only picture we have of the kite flying properly in the air. The rest of the time it was killer kite.

It would swoop in circles and come after the person who had launched it in the air. I missed the picture of it happening because I was feeding Micah at the time.

But Joel prefered the kite flying in circles anyway. He thought it was hillarious. My mom, not so much. Especially after it hit her in the butt.

Random Signs

Dan liked that the American tsunami signs had a person on them.

Yep....if a tsunami is coming, make for the bar. Which is right on the water. So you'll probably die. But Dan pointed out, at least you would die drunk. There's always an upside.

No walking your babies to the left. Too bad Micah.

What do you say to something like that?

For those who want to be green---even in death. Just recycle your bodies this way!
(seriously laughed out loud for miles after reading this one!)
Just in case you were wondering! No coins are necessary to operate stream. And yes, it was a real stream. Who would have thought that you would need a sign to let people know that?

Grandma

Joel loves his Grandma a lot. So much so, that when she is around, Dan and I cease to exist. So going to Oregon for a week together is a dream for him (and us).

He spends almost every waking moment with her (good thing she doesn't mind!)

On occasion,  Joel actually allows her to hold Micah, but that's usually when he's off chasing birds or we force him to come to his parents.

But its been a blessing to have her on the trip. To help with the kids. For company when the kids are sleeping. And in all reality, she's pretty cool.

We know that both boys think so!

Playing at the Beach

Oregon Trip 2012

Playing in the waves

Dumping water is his favorite thing to do. Its too bad for us that the water is so far from where we were sitting (on dry sand) and that Joel refused to go into the water by himself. Or maybe that's a good thing....

Even Micah got to go into the ocean.

But he spent most of his time either sleeping, lying on a blanket or being held.

Tillamook Cheese Factory

A lactose intolerance's personal hell. Or our favorite part of the trip! We just spent a week in Seaside Oregon and loved our day trip to the cheese factory.

A trip to Oregon isn't complete without a trip to Tillamook Cheese Factory.

What more could we ask for? Watching people work while we relax. Staring at conveyor belts of cheesy goodness. Sampling free cheeses. Eating delicious ice cream.

And taking home a goody bag of cheese, all tax free!

Plus, they have a hippie bus as their mascot! Yes, we fell in loaf, the first time!
